Doctor and Photographer Charles Lyon has traveled throughout the world on many bird adventures. Although he has seen over 800 bird species in the ABA area and close to 4,000 species worldwide, he has managed to document and enter a fraction of these sightings into this website as well as on EBIRD.org an online database of bird observations. The database provides scientist, researchers and amateur naturalist with real-time data about bird distribution and abundance.

With his photography, Dr. Lyon reveals the beauty of bird life. He hopes for others to reach a greater understanding of how these feathered creatures enrich our lives and to encourage the preservation of them as well as their natural world.
